The Chief Executive of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan has said that the britain tour is scheduled to travel ahead as planned despite 10 players testing positive out of the 29-member squad.
“The tour to England is extremely much on target and therefore the side will depart as per schedule on June 28,” Wasim said as quoted by the PCB on its handout . “All the first-choice red-ball squad, apart from wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, has been tested negative for coronavirus which suggests they will start training and practice immediately after they need been tested and given the all clear once they arrive in England.”
He added that head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq is reviewing the training schedule in England and devising plans for reserve players to be tested because the team’s backup plans.
The PCB chief executive stated that the players who are tested positive are going to be monitored and supported.
Wasim said that the players that are diagnosed with the virus are advised to travel into self-isolation in order that they not only recover quickly but also prevent their relations from being infected.
