TEHRAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik – 21st February 2020) Thirteen more people were infected with the novel coronavirus, officially dubbed COVID-19, across Iran, including the capital of Tehran, head of the country’s Health Ministry Information PR Kianush Jahanpur said on Friday, adding that the price from the virus had reached four.

“According to the recent results, 13 new [coronavirus] cases were detected,” Jahanpur said during a statement.

Seven of the cases were within the city of Qom, where the primary coronavirus case within the country was detected, four in Tehran, and two more within the Gilan province, he added.

Most of these infected are either Qom residents or are to the town in recent days or weeks.

The announcement brings the entire number of COVID-19 patients to 18, four of whom have died.

COVID-19 was first detected in China’s Wuhan in late December and has since spread to quite 25 countries. consistent with China’s health authorities, the amount of confirmed coronavirus cases in China has crossed 74,000, and over 2,100 patients have died.
