Sindh govt once more on collision course with Centre

The Sindh government on Tuesday formally announced it might not collect withholding for the federal from Dominion Day . The Sindh Excise Department has written a letter to the Inland Revenue commissioner during this regard.

The move will increase already tense relations between the Sindh government led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and therefore the federal led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The provincial government has told the federal to form arrangements on its own to gather withholding from the taxpayers in Sindh. Earlier, the Sindh cabinet had approved the government’s decision to prevent collection of withholding for the federal .
